Avar Heavy Horseman by El Taller

Very nice to see your work Oda. I remember you mentioning you are a slow modeller. Doing mounted figures doesn’t help then! So congrats on finishing him. Very sharp paintwork! Cheers Adrian

Very nice idea and execution! Adrian

    Completed Hamlet

Nice work Pedro. The jewelry looks particularly well done. I also like your colour choices. As to the base, I’d suggest a light varnish, with a yellow-ish tint. It would nicely mirror the blonde hair. But I also like the dark one of the previous post. Cheers Adrian

Completed Pompeii Garden - Part 2

After finishing the sculpt a while ago (https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/roman-girl.547164/#post-1315050) I am now almost done painting the figure. Only some touch-ups and final details to do. Here's some pictures: This means....I am actually nearing the end of this journey...

Review Airborne Miniatures Wehrmacht Soldiers- 1:16

Equipment: Very sharp. All parts have a location block to make a solid fit on the figure’s back. Conclusion: A really nice release that I highly recommend. Will not need much construction effort and sure to represent an enjoyable painting experience due to crisp finishing and detail. Only...

Review Airborne Miniatures Wehrmacht Soldiers- 1:16

The model is based on digital scans of reenactors, meaning highly realistic poses and drapery. It seems to be in true 1:16, making it compatible with Alpine Miniatures, but not with Jeff Shiu’s line, which is 1:15. Casting in light grey resin is very crisp with minimal casting lines and flash...

Review Airborne Miniatures Wehrmacht Soldiers- 1:16

I recently spotted figures from Airborne Miniatures at Berliner Zinnfiguren that were new for me and looked promising. I ordered this set and it is so good that I like to give it some deserved attention here. This is the set: My box was slightly squeezed, but content was undamaged...

Looking for Soviet 1/16 or 120 mm stuff

These are some really nice products and links Woods, thanks. I found the Tahk one while Googling, but understood it was sold out. I didn’t know New Order Model Design, but their stuff looks nice. In the meantime I have a 3d-printed Maxim coming my way. Looking forward to that! Thanks all...

Looking for Soviet 1/16 or 120 mm stuff

The MG34 is clearly 1:15 scale. Unfortunately, the difference with 1/16 is rather noticable. I tried to replace the head with one from Alpine Miniatures, or one from Steve Reedees’, but they are true 1:16 scale and look too small. Since the machine gun will be a seperate item, not connected to...
