    French Napoleonic Turnback ornaments

Hi Steve, The ornaments on the turnbacks of the French Line Infantry were standardized as grenades for Grenadiers, horns for Voltigeurs, but for the fusiliers were various, depending on the period and the regiment. So we can have the "N", the regimental number, hearts, and...nothing. If you say...

For Those About To Rock - 1:16 Angus Young

Hei, T50, Rock band or heavy metal band? I know a man named Keith Richards with a Telecaster, or a young guitarist named Jimi...Jimi...Jimi, ooh yes Hendrix, with a Strato burning in his hands, do you call him a churchman? It's not only question of sound, but of neck and fingerboard too

For Those About To Rock - 1:16 Angus Young

Hi to all, For Dan Morton: Since the rock is with us, and the rocking bands too, the question is always (or the question has been, actually we have someting new at high quality): Gibson or Fender for guitar, Marshall or Fender for amplifiers? Except bass guitars (Gibson never produced basses...

    Napoleonic Question

Hi John, You can also paint a thin gold line along the seam, the "chef d'escadron" sculpted by MAB is dressed very elegant. Remember the red of the breeches must be crimson, the facing colour of the 12th was crimson red, not scarlet as seems on the box. And the green of the jacket is deeper...

    Masterclass Models - New Releases

Hi Periklis, For these figures I don't know exactly, because they are not still listed in the Masterclass site, but their 54mm figures normally cost 28,50 €uros, then a couple of men I think perhaps a little more than 50... Best regards M

    Masterclass Models - New Releases

Hello, Referring to the Naples' figure it's better to explain he is a NCO escorting the main standard bearer. These men (a couple of NCO), armed with halberd, as in the French Army, were charged to escort the standard bearer and to hold the flag if the main officer was blessed or killed during...

    True figure sizes.

Hi to all, Owing to my age, I 'm seeing many figures from the 70's, when I began to collect soldiers (and paint Historex). When the actual "ronde bosse" figures born, in the 40's, after the older flat figures, the common scale used was 54mm, so 1/32, measured at the front of the head, any cap...

    Valimir Vuksic illustrations

Hello to all, Yes, it's really right, even if a good drawer, Vuksic made some mistakes on his drawings, or following bad sources, or using a little his fantasy on some details. But he remembers me some sculptors or painters working on all times of history. May they have the knowledge of all...

    Valimir Vuksic illustrations

Hello Sikander, Thanks for the link. I knew already Vuksic, he drawn some images for the italian magazine "Soldatini". He is a good drawer and not only for Napoleonics, I remember some ACW figures (as the 1st Virgina cavalry that Dani was looking for in this site), then some Austro Hungary...

    Napoleonic french drums

Hi Barry, When Napoleon calls, I am. Here I put two drums, one reprised from Rousselot's table, anothe one in real photo. I think they are enough clear to copy cords. For your drummer, forget the tricolour triangles, the bands on the top and the bottom of your drum were simply blue. Best...

French Grenadier of the Guard, Waterloo

Hi Rod, Thanks for the image, but this is uncorrect for me. From who is it the drawing? You probably don't say how many paintings, contemporary to the nap period, contain mistakes, and they were made at that time...Often drawings are copied by a mistaken source, so repeat the original mistake...
