Completed Third Regt of Belgian Lancers c. 1890

Hi, I have just done a search on Ebay re-Magic Sculpt availability. Green Stuff World has 1929 units available! I normally use good old Milliput and have not tried Magic Sculpt before, what is the difference between the two? I have some conversions coming up and would be interested in other...

Dear Simon, thank you for the very kind comments. Yes the Maggie Smith one was a lot of fun to paint. I have the Alan Rickman one of Prof. Severus Snape as well. I have started this a few times but need to improve my facial painting techniques. All the photo's I have of him in this role shows...

Kuton Figurines - 1/9th Scale Shogun Bust

Hi Versacrum., Please be aware that as far as I can assertion they are not going to make a series 2 for whatever reason. If I am wrong here I will be more than happy to be corrected. As far as I am able to assertion the original Chamberlain / Mifune is the only complete option. If true, it is a...

Kuton Figurines - 1/9th Scale Shogun Bust

This looks a fine bust. The parts look great, very clean looking, their hand finishing really shows. As for the quality of the likeness to the actor and that amazing box art...quite simply superb! I look forward to seeing the full figure. Cheers, Paul

    2nd Regiment (Dutch) Lancers

Congratulations, it's a beautiful sculpt expertly painted. The gold lacework is fantastic and I particularly love how you have painted the red. It is very lifelike. Cheers, Paul

Completed Third Regt of Belgian Lancers c. 1890

I am watching this figure with interest as I like the uniforms from this period. On the uniform front I recently discovered that L&F Funcken did a two volume set of uniforms of the 19th Century. I never knew they completed this set as I have never seen it for sale. I guess its off to the...

Hi everybody, I am in the middle of painting my 200mm scale Praetorian and he is in the WIP section. I have not been able to get a lot of bench time recently as I am constructing a major greenhouse base and must use the time (minutes) when its not raining to dig trenches for the foundations...

Great shading all around. I love the leather work and the face especially! Cheers, Paul

Completed Pegaso Miniatures 200mm Praetorian guard figure.

Dear Stefan and Malc, thank you for your kind words. I have done a little more on the shields inner face and have finally got the enamel paint off the rest of the figure. There are a few blemishes to be dealt with but he should join the other bits on the bench this coming week. Cheers, Paul

    Recently completed Terminator figure

Dear Rocco82 Thank you for the comments over the Arnie figure. I have only returned to painting after a very long break. What has surprised me is the mass of new materials now available. I have seen the pigments that you talk about but only in the context of AFV modelling not figures. I take...

    Pegaso 200mm Templar Knight

Dear Mike, thank you for the link to your lovely figure! I really like the way you have completed the white sections; always a difficult colour to shade. Too little and it does not show up properly, especially in photo's whilst too much and the figure looks like a Zebra! Yours looks great. The...

Completed Pegaso Miniatures 200mm Praetorian guard figure.

Good afternoon Nap has asked a question over the choice of colours re the face. For flesh I tend to paint in acrylics and in this case it is the basic "Flesh" set from Scalecolor obtained from the excellent El Greco Miniatures here in the U.K. The five O'Clock shadow was obtained by adding Artic...

Completed Pegaso Miniatures 200mm Praetorian guard figure.

Hello Simon, the figure is not that common and an earlier post by Mike told me that it is no longer in production which is a shame as it is a beautiful figure. It is made out of a very high quality resin which works very well. i.e. you don't look like a worker from a Victorian flour mill when...

Completed Pegaso Miniatures 200mm Praetorian guard figure.

Dear Mike, I agree with you. I think that the problem is their size and cost. Nobody is going to make this in white metal because of the cost and weight of the finished model. Having just finished the old Hinchliffe mounted Taisho figure, I can attest to the fact that it is no fun trying to hold...

Completed Pegaso Miniatures 200mm Praetorian guard figure.

Good afternoon everybody, Please see attached the recent photo's of my latest figure. It is the 200mm scale Praetorian Guard figure from Pegaso. The figure was acquired already started and has had to be stripped as it was being painted in gloss enamel paints! The progress so far is that the...

    Recently completed Terminator figure

Dear Babelfish, Simon and Mobo, Thank you for the likes and kind words, they are much appreciated. Yes, he is a big figure but at least I could see it with my dodgy eyes! There is no way I could paint 28mm wargame figures anymore. I currently use one of those headband magnifiers which is a great...

    Recently completed Terminator figure

This is my latest completed figure showing Arnie Swarzenegger in his Terminator role. The figure is a 200mm scale digital print and required very little in the way of preparation prior to painting. It was a steep learning curve as it is the largest scale figure I have painted to date! Standards...
