This is my latest completed figure showing Arnie Swarzenegger in his Terminator role. The figure is a 200mm scale digital print and required very little in the way of preparation prior to painting. It was a steep learning curve as it is the largest scale figure I have painted to date! Standards of production have really improved since I recently returned to painting after a break of many years. The figure is painted in a mixture of oils and acrylics. I will however have to brush up on how to photograph figures properly as the lighting I had available has tended to slightly bleach out the facial shading which is a pity. It is much more contrasted on the actual figure. Any comments or questions are more than welcome. Cheers, Paul

Cracking figure, though at 200mm I ask when does it stop being a figure and start being a statue?! Only joking it looks brilliant, a great return to painting.

Cheers Simon

Dear Babelfish, Simon and Mobo, Thank you for the likes and kind words, they are much appreciated. Yes, he is a big figure but at least I could see it with my dodgy eyes! There is no way I could paint 28mm wargame figures anymore. I currently use one of those headband magnifiers which is a great help. I have the similar sized Praetorian figure started and when he is finished I will again post the results.

Hi Paul, I too suffer from the bleaching of skin tones when I take photos of my efforts. I think it is to do with white balance setting.
Well executed figure, the leathers are particularly good.

Dear Melanie, thank you for the kind words about my Terminator figure. I will have to get the camera manual out and check the settings you mentioned!
Cheers,
Paul

Very nice mate..
Photos are such a pain in the butt unless you have a designated photo space /booth. Which I think would make things more easier /consistant.

The leathers are looking great. Nice weathering.
Do you have any weathering pigments?
Or dry brush a gentle little bit of dust effect on the boots.
Pigment would work better at that scale.

Just a tad would set it off just nicely.

Dear Rocco82
Thank you for the comments over the Arnie figure. I have only returned to painting after a very long break. What has surprised me is the mass of new materials now available. I have seen the pigments that you talk about but only in the context of AFV modelling not figures. I take your point over the boots and will take some time to explore how to use pigments more thoroughly. There is a book I believe by AK Products that explains the process. I think I will have a look at that.
Cheers,
Paul
