    WIP Latorre Saxon Warrior

Pretty much finished the Saxon. May do a little more with the ground work. I did go with the severed arm, hopefully it doesn't detract too much. I wanted to portray the brutal aftermath of a battle. James

Completed Bagration, 1812. Scale 75 mm. Irbis miniatures.

    Very nice sculpt!

    WIP YM German Stormtrooper WWI

Thanks Wayne. I don't mind folks pointing out historical inaccuracies, makes us all better informed and generally if we're doing a historical subject we should be accurate with history. That being said, I like to have a little fun sometimes. It was a challenge to paint and weather and (a BIG...

    Russian Winter.

Very nice job Konstantin. Nice painting and setting. Love the sign post. Perhaps a little more detail on the groundwork (mud/bare spots/little less snow) would give the composition a little more contrast? But it's really a matter of what you like. I agree with Wayne that a bigger (taller) base...

    WIP YM German Stormtrooper WWI

Thanks for the feedback guys. I know the helmet art may not be historically accurate, but I do like the look. To me it gives the piece a little more interest if nothing else. I can imagine some young bad-ass stormtrooper wanting to make a statement and then getting in trouble with his commander...

Sorry if I offended historically accurate sensibilities. I did it because... I liked the look :)

    WIP YM German Stormtrooper WWI

Latest project. YM German Stormtrooper WWI. This is a superb bust to paint. Loved the paint scheme on the helmet by Dmitry Fesechko (http://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/9722), so I imitated it. Also went with a cigarette instead of the pipe that comes with the kit. Hope to have more pics soon...

Thanks for the thoughts guys. David, your take on the Saxon was an inspiration for mine. I really like your version. James

    WIP Latorre Saxon Warrior

Hello fellow figure painters! Hope everyone had a great holiday season. I was able to get some painting done. Here's Latorre's great sculpt of a Saxon Warrior 5th Century. I grunged him up quite a bit; the hard found battle has just concluded. Base and ground work are not completed yet, but...
