Hello fellow figure painters!

Hope everyone had a great holiday season. I was able to get some painting done. Here's Latorre's great sculpt of a Saxon Warrior 5th Century. I grunged him up quite a bit; the hard found battle has just concluded. Base and ground work are not completed yet, but will feature a bloody battlefield complete with a severed arm :blackeye:

I like this figure. He should be dirty, after all Saxon England wasn't the cleanest place on earth. Nice autumnal colour scheme too.

Very nice. I like the weathering you did on him. I added a similar tear to the shield when I painted mine, though I didn't do the chipping along the sides. Seeing your distressing of the shield, I wish I'd thought of that too!

Looks good, and I really like what you've done with the shield.

Not sure that a severed arm won't unnecessarily detract from the figure though. Groundwork alone should be enough to set it off nicely, without the "gore factor". Sometimes "less is more" as they say. But it's your piece so obviously it's your call. Opinions always will differ.
