Well, the sculpt is really exceptional, very good pose and level of detail. Though, IMO the historicity suffers a lot, I don´t think that any Byzantine Emperor ever looked like that. The animal skin on his back for example. Or most important, his helmet. I can´t bring in mind a single pictorial...

Hi Rudi, well I´m definetely an oil painter, although I use acrylics for detailing and small areas. But since I´m used of blending a color rather than layering it and I read the article of Tim too I thought of giving the Blending Medium for watercolors from W&N a try. Well, Tim is right 100%...

Maurizio, you did it again, you stunned everybody!!! Excellent work, it´s really a beauty in scale. I´m also curious about the historic reference on this although I will buy it for sure, no matter what. Lately I realised that 75mm is my scale, 54mm is too small for me, 90mm too big...

Apart from the shield being too large I think that no Viking would go in battle half naked, specially at lands where the Viking "usually" operated. The pose in great though, nice sculpting, I think is a great figure for a conversion...... Anastasios.
