    A lesson in tiger stripe

Thanks very much Ski. I’m enjoying making progress learning how to use the acrylics. Definitely see smoother paint layers in my latest pics. Appreciate you looking in. So progress has been made on the 1/16 SEAL. I applied the OD filter and then put in a few stages of highlights over the black...

    A lesson in tiger stripe

As I said, progress has been made. The most recent figure is near completed. I’m pretty darn happy especially when I compare it to efforts from yesteryear. Obviously room to improve but at any distance greater than a foot those disappear. I thought about re painting the bravo6 figure shown...

    Advance to Arnhem 1/16 scale

Stunning Ski! The only thing slightly out of balance in my eyes are the veins on the back of the hands. They look too sharply defined and stark. As I said, just one mans perspective on a very minor detail. I’m blown away by literally everything else. Cheers, kempie

    A lesson in tiger stripe

I’m getting back into the hobby after years building model planes. My humbrol enamels dried up so I got a starter set of Vallejo acrylics. Most of my grey army is Vietnam era special forces so I decided to focus on tiger stripe and erdl uniforms. Along with the excellent tutorial here on...

NOOB Alert Oil Pints and Brush strokes

I'm not super advanced myself but typically oils are applied over some sort of base coat. My own preference is to paint the oil on thick and then brush almost all of it off using another clean dry brush. This leaves only the thinnest hint of oil on the high points with a little heavier coat in...

WIP Critique DML 1/16 Navy SEAL

So a little more progress with this. Closing out some of the to do list and trying to bring the detail out. Also, tackled probably the scariest part of the figure - it's eyes. The molded detail was unbalanced and pretty unhelpful. The end result isn't a major feature but at least in my...
