WIP - 54mm wignetee "Grivitsa is Ours"

Excellent work. I love your approach as well, making a sort of cradle to support.

    1/16 Oak Leaves

I've put these back into production. They are acrylic impregnated paper, using 100% colorfast dies, 200 per pack (each example shown uses one pack). $7.50 per pack, $3 shipping in the States, $5 Worldwide. PM if interested. Thanks!

    I've noticed something.

My wife still looks good to me after 20 years. I guess I better not take a photo of her...

    I've noticed something.

I absolutely agree, yet it's still a bit of a shock each time. I used to think it was just lighting, etc plus the added magnification of the camera, but I bet our brains fill in a lot of information when we're looking at the same thing for a period of time.

    I've noticed something.

When sculpting or painting and it's coming along nicely, it looks like this: Then you stop to take a photo and it really looks like this:

Since I had the B&W on the palette...

Thank you gentlemen, you are way too kind. It's a Moebius Models repop of old Aurora kit, just an old injection mold clunker. It's 1/12. The figure is supposed to be upright reaching for the surface but I decided it looks better on his side swimming. I added a support bar and hid it with some...

I hope you dumped curare in the water. ;) Or was that Cuervo? Thank you for the kind words sir.

Since I had the B&W on the palette...

I grabbed The Creature off the shelf. Same deal as the Munsters, had this built and primed for a long time, just didn't have the yarbles to put brush to paint.

    I'll be watching and learning.

    Achromatic Munsters

I agree. I didn't pay attention to how the bases interlocked, I assumed they would have been facing each other, but it's more of a vaudeville type set up. There was a long period of time between when I built and primed them and now, probably two years I think and I tossed the boxes and...

    Achromatic Munsters

Thank you gentlemen, much appreciated. For all the putting this off and worry about proper shading, etc all it really took was a little dry brushing to create enough highlights. I also learned a good lesson regarding the eyes that will help with sculpting: Grandpa's eyes were vaguely...

    Shaking paint.

If you have an old scroll saw (or can get one cheap), they make a great shaker for the 17ml bottles:

Getting near completion here which is remarkable for me.

    Achromatic Munsters

Thanks Mike, thanks John. John, I'm familiar with the old Auroras, I remember seeing them in the LHS when I was young. Moebius and Polar lights have been using the old Aurora molds and releasing them over the years in limited runs. I paid $130 a few months ago for Frankenstein's monster...

    Achromatic Munsters

Thanks gents, I appreciate the comments and suggestions. Nap, there is a Herman figure to go with it, but looking at it, I guess I just assumed these were 1/8 based on general size since the there's no mention of scale in the instructions and the boxes were tossed (or binned on your side of...

    Achromatic Munsters

I'm still playing around with mixes and techniques, so in practice I wanted to get some simple things done. I grabbed the Moebius 1/8 Munsters kits and started painting. Really having fun with it, I wanted to stay true to the TV show, so I'm keeping it strictly black and white and am painting...

    Stippling technique

I read that article before I started as well. Keeping in mind that I am new to figure painting, I don't have the experience or knowledge base of anyone here and weigh my thoughts that way, what I did was stipple like you would dry brush a model. I'm assuming you build armor since you've done...

    Painting attempt.

I wanted to work on painting eyes, so I grabbed another Karl from the pile. This is just the eyes, the rest hasn't been touched except a base coat and some natural flesh s a sketch. Any hints or criticisms gladly accepted and encouraged. I know his left iris isn't round, I was having fits with...
