The "horns" are clips to hold the goggles in place. Usually, this are folded down on the side of the helmet.

Nice job Gary! One minor thing: Japanese pilots were issued with white silk scarves as part of their flight kit. Colored scarves are virtually absent from period photos. I hope this helps! Cheers!! Mike

Yep! I noticed. In fact, as the sculptor it was deliberate. Like much Confederate equipment, the belt is a "captured" or liberated Union item. Thanks to everybody for the nice compliments! If you want to see more figures like it from Alpine, buy this one..... Cheers!! Mike

Hey Mike! As the sculptor of this bust, I can say that the canvas texture was sculpted in. I used a little piece of an old shirt to carefully press the texture into the straps.

Another nice sculpt Kaz! He kind of looks like Claus von Stauffenburg..... Mike

The original head on this one was a bit "cartoony". This new head, with its sublime painting, put it into another category altogether. Awesome! :eek: No whinging necessary.....
