The dulcimer would be similar to the Latvian instrument kolke, though the strings of the kolke are muted with one hand and plucked with a plectrum in the other. Just adding some info...I live in Latvia.

Can you take a little suggestion? The weight of his head should be all holding the violin in place...looks to me like there is little contact being made between his chin and the instrument. I only know because I play a little and am making a violin! Other than that I love the whole...
