How Many Models on the Go?

Currently on one figure model at the moment, or actually in the closing phases. I started on another figure - bust - which has been in my collection for years, actually started prepping it, in addition I've started prepping a figure (another bust) which come in the mail. My question is I know...

Completed Critique One of my first sculpts from years ago.

I dunno, you say pretty crude. By my reckoning it's pretty damn good for a first attempt. I can only wish that if I get around to trying a sculpt it's half as good as yours.

Completed Officer 3rd Regt Cuirassiers 1807

Well you've captured the 'style' I want very well indeed. I want to perfect the campaign feel in future figures, looks like I have a lot of work to do this being the standard. Once again great work.

    Acrylics Tips on air brushing

I'll start by stating I'm definately no where as good as many of the members of this forum are, but, for what's it worth. When thinning down the various mediums, ie enamel, acrylics I'm pretty conservative. With enamels that I use (HUmbrol), is thinned with standard enamel thinners purchased...

    WIP Critique Historic Art Viking

I reckon it's a great job, colours to my way of thinking are just right. How long you been at this caper Andrew? I notice your from NSW, I'm over in the West, err...just a question about where do you get your figures from? I'm just started into figures and sourcing from overseas.

    WIP Glass?

The suggestion of hollowing out the helmet is an idea, then fix acetate sheet. It will go towards improving my eventual conversion of figurines. Cheers guys for your great suggestions, all good stuff.

    WIP Critique USN Diver

@Paul, The brass helmet mix was by using Humbrol Brass and I tinted it with a bit of black, then a wash of black and brown was applied. Then a dry bush of brass. Finished off with Tamiya 'smoke'. Looking at the helmet again, I'd apply my first coat of 'brass' without the tint of black. I...

    WIP Critique USN Diver

Re: USN Diver - Work Thus Far I've painted the base colour for the diving suit and applied my first attempt at shadow/highlights, I'm going to either blend them out or repaint as it's a bit too much. The helmet glass is where I'm a bit unstuck at the moment, I tried just to paint Tamiya...

    WIP Glass?

Cheers for the replies. The figure has no head visible through the helmet, it depicts a diver underwater. I do like the suggestion of acetate from exposed 35mm camera film. Now, only to find some, have to dig through all the boxes of photos I have.

    WIP Glass?

My current project, and first true figure, is a Verlinden 120mm USN Diver circa 1942. With acknowledgements to Jacek Spychalski for his technique on 'weathering' a similar project, I need bit of help with the glass face and viewing plates for the helmet. I'm at the stage of I've applied the...
