Grüß Di' Bergkamerad Eric, The Gebirgsjäger Windbluse (anorak) ranged in color. The 1st pattern anoraks can be a dark olive-brown when first issued, but quickly become khaki after a few washings. The second pattern anoraks came on a heavier olive-green canvas. Of course washing would also...

Bought the Truppenfahrrad from a friend of mine who is a bicycle collector here in the US. He had it shipped from Germany I believe. Masovia bicycles were built in Königsberg, East Prussia. They are somewhat of a rare bird. Here's a German website about the maker...

This was one of the biggest issues that I had with this figure. I think being named a "SS Gebirgsjäger" figure is for pure marketing. The Reichsadler on this figure seams to be half SS and half Army...check the wings. Also, the cap Edelweiss is the Army metal version...the W-SS used a cloth...

Anyone know when this figure will hit the market????

Here are a few original wartime Gebirgsjäger portrait photos from my archives showing various plaid/checkered shirts and sweaters being worn. It adds some variety to painting standard German Feldgrau (field grey) uniforms....though you can see the variety of "Shades of Field Grey" in the photos...

Bergheil und drei mal Horrido!!! Brilliant painting! Really captures the look of a Heer Gebirgsjäger...especially the civilian shirt which was common with army mountain troops. This is definitely on my must get list! Hurra die Gams, Patrick
