Why W-SS???????? Great looking figure....will have to convert mine to the more elite Heer (army) Gebirgsjäger who actually operated in high Alpine regions in Russia, Italy, and France.

Looks to have captured excellent details of the Windbluse (the Army issue 3-chest pocket anorak), along with the large mountain rucksack, piton hammer and other equipment. Don't know why he would be wearing an officer's belt? Officers were not MG-34 gunners in a squad. Overall, though, I will be very happy to get this Gebirgsjäger.

Yup, I'm liking this one too!

Patrick @heeresbirgfuhrer,
I know how he came about an officers belt. It went like this;

"Herr Leutnant, if you die first, me and my comrades are splitting up your gear, and I get first pick for your belt and cigarettes!" :D

Bonjour Zastrow,

Last time I checked all my military history reference books, the Germans lost the naval battle but won their overall objective of holding and occupying Norway thus securing their iron ore supply.

The Germans had about 5000 troops at Narvik, where as the Allied forces of Norwegians, British, French, and Polish troops numbered around 25,000. The ad hoc German troops comprised of Gebirgsjägers, Sailors, and some Fallschirmjägers took some severe blows but held off the Allies.

But being part French myself....my mother is from Metz....I can see your point of view.

Vive la France! Bergheil und Horrido!

Patrick
