54mm metall by Romeo Models + large resin raven from a Himini accessories pack

An ambitious and ruthless warlord from early English history, he united the Anglian Kingdoms of Bernicia and Deira into what later became Northumbria and fought several victorious battles against the Gaels and Britons of the Hen Ogledd ("Old North").
My goal was to depict a brutal, pagan warrior with still a touch of nobility to him.

Cheers
Cyrill

That's outstanding painting and well presented. I love the colors and detail and of course the raven is a very nice touch.

Great work and I also enjoyed the history. Thanks for sharing.

Very good indeed and from my home turf, he can be both noble and pagan, we aren't all rough around the edges. I really like the texturing on the cloak.

Cheers Simon

Cyrill, I like the presentation and your colour palette, have you come across the Bernica Chronicles series of novels by Matthew Harffy they are a good read.

I've read some of B. Cornwell's Saxon Stories books back in the day which have a Northumbrian protagonist during the Viking Age but never heard of that one. Thanks, I'll be sure to check it out!
