Hi Steve

Just catching up on this project and loving your progress. Painting DPM camo isn’t difficult it just requires patience and an understanding of how the camo colours and patterns are layered. I posted a tutorial on painting DPM on pF several years ago which might be helpful mate.

Yep i have it printed out and ready to go :)

Time seems to fly by when you having fun - 2hrs spent shading and weathering this large lump of resin last night - pleased with the results though. Next the 58' Pattern Webbing. Then i will have to paint the camo.

Like the work, I've always fancied doing a modern figure but not sure how it would go using oils.

Couldn't get on with acrylics.

Hi Steve, great start on this figure.
I have say it many time, nothing beats the 80's DPM, one of the best and nicest camo patterns so far.
Your guy looks like Tommy from the series "The Crown" lol

Coming along nicely Steve.Nice to see our product being enjoyed.
Richard

Really enjoying it Richard, sculpting is first class and the details are lovely and sharp, very soon i will have to start on the camo. The SASR bust is going to be another very enjoyable project, when i get round to it.

Looks good so far, looking forward to see your take on the DPM.
I'll have to try AK ultra matt, I'm struggling somewhat with the matt finish on my Para.

Got his weapon painted last night and attached, along with his hands and head. Need to get the plinth painted next so i can start to hang things of him. He isnt shiny in real life, Damm dark mornings and kitchen lights !!

Agree with Nap, that DPM looks sweet.
I need to get on with my para, but other things keep interfering.

Hi Steve

You have nailed that camo for sure , like the fact that you haven't over done the face as well

Thanks for sharing

Thanks both,

Dunno what I was worried about :( , picked apart a couple of articles on here (one on the painting technique, one on colours to use ) and gave it a go. Do think you need a quality brush, that can hold the paint and be able to 'swoosh' when needs be. And the biggest tip - don't try to recreate or copy any actual pattern, just paint the theory/design, if that makes sense. Happy (very) with how it has come out :)
