Hi

I want to have a full AK47 with my H&V Vietcong bust rather than the one supplied which is cut off before the barrel.

Bit of an odd scale and Steve at Reedees doesn't do this scale.

I will probably scratch build but just thought it worth asking before I start

Cheers

Neil

I have the same bust and the same thought. I may have an alternative though, I was thinking of 3d printing one.
$55 for some toy guns seems very steep, I can surely print one cheaper than that!

Hi Ranchhand

Thats a good idea, if you get a price let me know, if it's economical we could split it or perhaps do a few and offer them for sale to cover costs?

The bust is good but I don't like the block pedestal and want to remove it and replace with a rod, and if you do that the AK will look very odd as it is.

Cheers

Neil

So i dug my bust out of its grey army storage to look at it.
the AK-47 she has is very, very nice. it also slots perfectly into her back, it will be a bit tough to get a replacement that fits as nice. So i had a thought: a "conversion" to add the missing front end of the weapon, it would require a bit of work by the modeler to use but it's doable.
you would need to blend in the lower part that the folding stock is covering, the part that is wood. it shouldnt be too noticable.
Ill poke at it and see what comes of it, if i can get it to work ill offer it up on shapeways for purchase.

hers a first stab at it, if you get your AK47 part out you should be able to see where i am going with this, you just pin it to the end of the one that comes with the kit.

printing it in the highest detail material, with shipping, will be around $15
its a pretty niche item.

Here is a 3d end part i made to attach to the resin part that comes with the kit
