Some advances of this amazing figure. Many tiny details for painting, mainly in the equipment.
I'm considering to change the rifle, I'm not very convinced with it modeling and also I don't know if it's smaller or different type for the alpine troops, but in all the pictures that I've consulted it's largest.
Also I'm not happy entirely with the painting of the metal equipment, let me know what do you think about.
All critics and advices are welcome and desire.
Hope it likes,
Cheers.
Francisco
Ps.
Sorry for the pictures, I'm not a good photographer.
I up some with different grades of light.
Francisco, he looks really good, love how you've done the blue jacket, I can't give you a critique on what you have done because I would be really happy with it.
Francisco,
Thanks for the update. He is looking GREAT! I especially like the way you did the leather on the ammo pouches. As for the rifle, it ws meant to be the shorter Berthier Carbine, and not the full-length rifle. see here:
which would be incorrect because the MAS-36 was not adopted until 1936 between the wars. And I probably didn't know any better way back then and was relying on the sculptor. As our figure might say: "C'est la vie" i guess that's what makes things interesting.
Thank you very much Steve and Paul for your kind words.
And also, thank you so much Paul for the clarification and information.
For the ammo pouches I took for reference the attach photo.
In all the pictures that I've consulted appear the trooper with the standard rifle.
I can send it to you if you would like. BUT, it might look a little out of place. That is, it was digitally rendered, and 3-d printed (from which I used as a master to make castings). So, it is very precise. and may not "fit' with the sculpt as the size may be off just a little and the style of the sculpt may not match. but let me know. If you want me to send it along, PM me with your address.
