I've recently completed a couple of Wingnut Wings 1/32 scale Fokker Eindeckers, and wanted to share a few pictures of the figures I painted up for them. The figure of Max Immelmann came with the Fokker E.II kit, and the figure of Oswald Boelcke posed by his Fokker E.IV is from Model Cellar. Both resin figures were painted with Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics. Cheers!

Beautiful work Gary. Excellent modelling on the aircraft and the figures really complement the models well. They are both very nicely handled, the Boelcke figure in particular looks really lifelike, I really like the flesh tones (it's an amazing sculpt by Mike Good).

I usually intend to do figures to go with my aircraft but so far I have never got round to it!

Thanks to all for the kind words!

Yes, Nigel - Mike good's sculpts are really excellent indeed. He also did the Max Immelmann sculpt, but unfortunately the re-casts were done by an Asian firm for Wingnut Wings who didn't match the quality of ones like UltraCast or Model Cellar. I had quite a bit of cleanup/repair work to do on the Immelmann figure.
Cheers,
Gary

Hi Gary

Great to see your benchtime , and if I did planes they would be WW1 , incredible aircraft and men who flew them

You've done a fine piece of art on both planes and pilots , love the cowling and the rigging , the leatherwork works so well on the coats

Do share more of these amazing machines of the knights of the air
