Hi All
I'd like ideas and pointers please.
I have 3 small dioramas planned - Italian soldiers WW1, French Zouaves WW1 & US infantry ACW.
It would be nice to add some items to this and I would appreciate suggestions of where to look (retailers, manufacturers).
For instance, subjects like the limber shown on the attached Franco-Prussian war painting.
Anything appropriate, really.
Thanks in anticipation.

David, I don't see any difference between the limber in the painting and a limber from the ACW. Imrie-Risley produced one in 54mm. I/R ceased trading a while ago, but their artillery products were still available at the Saratoga Soldier Shop last time I looked. If they are still afloat (no clue about that), I think that they probably have the limber. Good luck!

Consider the Historex catalogue. It wouldn't surprise me to find the difference being quite minimal between Napoleonic-era and these. It shouldn't be too hard to convert them.

Good news-Imrie-Risley are still in business, though now under new ownership. Helen and her daughter sold the business to a gentleman in Kentucky. The website is the same: https://www.irminiatures.com/ As far as I know, the full catalog is available. I've bought some mounted hussars last fall.

I'm not sure about the bricks-and-mortar shop, though. I never drove up there, and it might have been closed a couple years ago, while I/R was still doing the show circuit. I think it was just storage for several years.

The same gentleman has accumulated a couple other classic businesses under his umbrella-Ron Ruddell's London Bridge Collector's Toys, along with the license to produce Britains replacement parts; Jack Scheid's (contemporary of Bill Imrie and Clyde Risley) catalog, which was part of London Bridge; Rich Dutkins' catalog of molds; Bert Dunken's Dunken Co, which sold molds and casting supplies, including Prins August; and Castings, a successor to the old homecast companies Home Foundry and Rappaport Bros. A big chunk of toy soldier history now under one roof.

Prost!

Another source you might consider, David, is Armand Bayardi. He is a long-time maker of resin diorama accessories. Armand is retiring, but you can still buy items, as he sells off his inventory. You can see his catalog here: https://armandbayardi.com/. Armand was at our (the MFCA) show 2 weeks ago, with some bins of his pieces. I'm sure others here can join me in praise of the quality of his sculpting and casting.

Prost!
Brad
