Hi guys,

Some pics of my box diorama before I close it all up. Still a few details to deal with, but mostly complete! This will be lit by LEDs disguised as bulkhead lamps, with a downlighter above each figure and red, yellow and orange LEDs in the stove. The figures were given to me already built, but have had a change of paint. All the walls are foamboard, clad in embossed plastic card, as is the floor. (y)

Hi Steve

Good to see this , clever construction of building and a good overall idea

Figures look good as well in placement

Look forward to seeing the lighting effects

Loving this, great stuff. I would love to pluck up the courage and do a box diorama some day. Could you share some info about the LEDs you used, and how you wired them up?

TBH, this was dead easy as I used a set of pre wired LEDs for decorative use in bottles, etc. Holes were drilled in the walls and back of the stove, then the lights were pushed into the holes, bulkhead lights were made from plastic tube and rod and the switch will be attached to the outside of the casing when it's all done! But if you prefer to wire up your own circuit you can get LEDs with resistors already in place which makes life easier....!

Although the LEDs on the wall look bright from the photos, there wouldnt be enough ambient light from the stove alone to light everything. In reality, the light is quite subtle.(y)
