Here's the follow up from one of the figures I posted in an earlier tread, 1/48 scale British Tommies. A photo of the earlier figure is included for reference, as is a picture of the original SMLE No.1 Mk 3 rifle. This guy is complete as a 'Home Guardsman' from about the 1940-1941 period, with a mix of nonstandard equipment. The only information I have for the ammo pouches is from the photo provided by the customer, nothing in my material mentions it. If anyone could date and describe the things for me it would be very much appreciated.

Materials are; Resin casting (this from the original in the last picture), A+B putty for building up the arms, and Magic-Sculp blended with Green stuff for the rest.

really nice work ray - can almost see Dad's army or the butchers truck - actually go well with a early german truck as a what if if germans invaded in 1940 - some lovely things for both 1/48 armour modelling and for the rail modellers

Thanks Ian, I appriciate your taking notice. The next thing I suppose is to see one painted though I don't know how that will work out as these guys have left for New Zealand today.

ray I will just have to jump the "ditch" (to NZ) hehehe

Yes it would be great to put some paint on these fellows using the valleo British uniform colour etc

Balázs,
Seeing your own work I take your complements as the highest of praise, (honestly I blush at it) thank you. If only I fealt myself a competent figure painter I would certainly want one of you wonderful firemen, but alas I haven't painted a figure in a decade or more and don't think I could do justice to your sculpting. Even so I am eagerly waiting to see one painted by someone that can.

Ian,
Maybe I will be able to obtain a casting for you once the thing is in production. It would be nice to see one painted by an actual figure modeler that would most likely lend more life the figure than those painted by our Model Railway compatriots.

Ray,
well equpped trooper, with Hand me downs from the regs.

Easy to see this little fellow standing guard at either a radar site, a pill box, or over a belly landed fighter of some kind.

Thanks for sharing

Cheers

Lovely work and natural poses in this small scale.

I agree with Janus. Your customer should let the aircraft guys know that this product exists. Would be well fitting standing guard over Tamiya's recent Austin Tilly 10HP car or a belly landed Hurricane or BF109 :)
