I really like them myself, any ideas how these figures faces are painted and buy
whom?, mick

I expect they are machine painted. The custom figures done by the likes of Tony Barton are much better. The problem with poseables in commercial textiles is that textures and stitching are always out of scale. The sold out 2me Napoleonic cuirassier is horrible but their WWII stuff is much superior to Dragon.

I don't think they are machine painted : I belive that can be done for things like markings on model aircraft , but I'm not sure it's possible on an irregular surface like a model head.
I believe they are hand painted by workers in the Chinese factories where 1/6th figures are made: there is often some variation if you compare several heads, though not much.

I'm sorry some people don't like them : they have immense possibilities, because once you are fed up with one view, YOU CAN CHANGE IT !

Some of the stuff coming from people like Hot Toys have amazing paint apps these days. DID is sort of second tier almost these days, Hot Toys and Soldier Story are probably the top dogs. Old Dragon has really gone down the pan (or rather just not followed the rest). Check out this guy's stuff, absolutely gobsmacking, albeit somewhat hubristic at times...: http://www.serang.co.kr/

Serang's stuff is rather amazing. Some lessons there for folk like me that do one sixth portraits. Thanks for the link.

Truly some very impressive pieces for what they are...But for my taste;...nothing compares to a figure that has been sculpted by someone's hand. The overall pieces look magnificent. But to stare at a sculpt of an original or casting of an original is a pure joy to me;plus the fact that I'm now doing my best to paint them can't be beat.
Again....excellent all the way around........Do I want one on my shelf ?...NO!..........Wayne
