Hi Modellers,
this 200mm figure I have finished lately and it's my first contribution here. It's from Warriors range and I have painted it with Oils (Face and Arms) and Acrylics (Clothing).
The camouflage pattern was most challenging to me. After a priming coat (applied with airbrush) I have decided to use self made stencils for patterns at easy accessible areas. By this some patterns could be sprayed, all other patterns as well as the camou stripes I have painted using a normal brush and Vallejo acrylics. The base is part of the product (except for the wooden base).
Hope you like it.

Happy new year to all you guy's.
Patrick

Hi Patrick.
Very good painting job, and a lot of atmosphere too! I would not mess with this fellow. Now a question: where did you get the pattern of colours for this guy? The german smock , when camouflaged, was usually in one shade of brown and one of green, on a greyish/beige or pale green background, with small vertical green lines, supposed to imitate rain(!!!). Your pattern sems to me made of green and kaki. Any reason or particular sources?

Thanx Guy and Henri for your compliments.
Henri, you've asked for an interesting topic on german uniforms. Germans have had different camouflaged uniforms for Wehrmacht, SS and Luftwaffe.
The I took reference to "Deutsche Uniformen 1939 - 1945" by Jean de Lagarde (ISBN 3-613-01869-1).

This smock here is about the 3rd model of german parachute blouse in german Luftwaffe Splinter Camouflage. I've tested several color mixes to fit the colors shown in the book as best as I could. Lately the jacket got a priming coat of Tamiya's medium gray XF-20 with a bit of flat earth (XF-52) added. The base (large) camouflage patterns I have painted with a mixture of XF-26 "deep green", XF-68 "Nato brown" and XF-65 "field grey" in a ratio of 80:5:15. Followed by a grey-blue pattern in a mix of "black", "pale sand" and "russian uniform ww2" (all colors from Vallejo range). The camouflage stripes are XF-26 "deep green".
The trousers (german term for this type is "Tropenüberfallhose") got a complete coat of pure khaki.
Well, in fact it's an approximately coloring only.
I case of any more questions, just let me know.

Cheers
Patrick
