1/9 Mounted samurai from RDG miniatures.
I enjoyed this but it is a heck of a lot of model. This was (I think) my third figure and got a bit overwhelmed half way through.
I think I made a decent job of him but have learnt alot during and since finishing him.
Maybe I will revisit him at some point.

That's really good and not an easy figure to paint, Samaurai never are, please do finish it.

Cheers Simon
Ain't that the truth. I did my first one earlier last year and it was exhausting. I still then ordered a bunch of new ones and now I'm afraid to touch them, having noticed how heavily they are scrutinised and only vaguely being familiar with their history. Maybe I will in a few years or so...

I did the exact same. Got a few more in my stash that scare me. I will brush up on their history. (Or play more Ghost of Tsushima) Even now at model shows I keep finding myself drawn to resin samurai.

Ah just go for it, if you enjoy the process then the results are always less important. It's what you get from it that matters, that's said from the above your results are well worth studying!!

Hi Shaun

All credit to you , that’s a hard piece to hold yet alone paint , liking the banner lettering and the choice of colours

You’ve done a nice job on him and the horsework ......it’s not a bad idea to go back to a piece as you progress with the painting

Don’t forget our competitions as well see link below

Looking forward to seeing more from you

Have fun

Good job. Agree with all the comments above. A real handful. I learned alot doing the Poste Militaire 90mm and, like you may do, did some later revisions. There is an extensive review of this figure, and the PM that was posted on PF by Yellowcat from May of 2022. It has a great deal of Samurai info. You did a good job with this figure.

Thanks Nap. Yea I think knocking parts off was one of the more frustrating parts of the build. I really enjoyed painting the horse.
I will check out the competitions.

Looking forward to getting more done.
