Hello friends,
I´ve built and painted this little vignette. The figures are from Dragon Models,
the heads are from Hornet.
I´ve done it all in acrylics.
I hope you like it.

WOW! That's really nice. I could have sworn looking at it for the first time it was at least 1/16 scale! Just outstanding!

I really like this a lot. Everything about it is so appealing and very well put together. The ground work just makes it that much better. Outstanding job sir.

Beautifully clean and neat painting and excellent groundwork, but surely these grunts are far too clean to be in combat, particularly Bastogne in the middle of winter? A little bit of weathering to dirty up these very clean soldiers would add an extra level of realism to this vignette.

amazing work really amazing, they dont look like injection moulded plastic figures more like resin great work,

how did you achieve such realistic looking rank insignia on the staff sergeant

cheers

Excellent work, well done,
I agree with Tony that the figures needs some dirty look and also agree with Marc about the... twins.:D

Where Dragon 1/35 plastic figures ace in variety, they are arguably second rated in naturalism and too often suffer from "chubby" torso and limbs when compared to rivals such as Master Box and MiniArt.

What happens here though, is breath-taking painting more than doing justice to this kit. I have this box set myself and I know the quality, which is good and nothing more. This is powerful proof that a piece is as good as the painter allows it to be, more so than the sculptor.

I am really moved. Stuff of legend.

Echoing previous comments. Outstanding composition and painting. You kept color values constant over the four figures, which most of us know is difficult to do. I understand the comments about weathering, but would be very reluctant to change what you have created here. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Congratulations gunther, what a lovely beutifull piece you've created,i love the interaction between the figures, youv'e captured a moment of suspence within the vignette, great execution on all fronts my friend, the painted uniform and helmet insignia are very well done as all of it is,overall a superb piece of figure modeling and painting,it clearly shows with a bit of attension that these dragon figures paint up really well.
