Barring a few tiny little finishing touches, I'm calling this done.

120mm 6th Dragoons Trooper, Waterloo 1815. Sculpt by Maurice Corry, supplied by Gordon at MMM.

Vallejo Acrylics and Oils.

Only my second completed figure, so still learning (and it's quite a steep, but enjoyable curve).

Very nice job,the eyes might benefit from being a tad smaller or he may just have big eyes your call ;) and as a personal thing I'd weather the rear of the figure a bit as well, also might want to fill the joints between body and arms some, unless it's meant to look like that I'm not a Nappy man myself so apologies if it's meant to be that way :) but it's a million times better than my second or even tenth figure (y) Like you say it's a learning curve alright

Cheers guys. Constructive critisism more than welcome. (y)

I did actually fill the gap between arms and body... But then, for some reason, decided to "Wash" the joints to emphasise them. On reflection probably could/should have been more subtle.

I wish my second figure had been this good-yellow and red are difficult colours, you have done a good job with this. Giving volume to Cross belts and slings is not easy either so you are in the right direction.

Cheers guys.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Next project is a Crimean chap, so hopefully I shall see some improvement.

A question if I may...

I am fairly (very) new to figure painting, as such I'm still discovering different manufacturers. I'm a general modeller usually... Aircraft, the odd Tank etc.

Is there a figure available of a Blue coated British 120mm figure? (RHG, Light Dragoon etc)

You picked a really challenging figure to paint there considering it's only your second.... I've started this one myself and stripped it many times.... A good job on this ,really like the tunic.....didn't he originally have the sword under his arm...like what you've done there having the sword hanging at his side might try that myself ....nice one

Thanks.

Yes, the box art shows his sword over his arm, but I wasn't too keen on that pose, and couldn't really work out how to "twist" the resin sling straps to make it "correct".

So just decided to hang it by his side, and ended up making my own straps from Lead Foil anyways, as I preferred the "Fluidity". I find that the Resin slings are a little, well, stiff really.
