Hi All,

just finished this figure which i had started a few months back,he is depicting a British para just after the drop into Arnhem and awaiting the german assault on the Arnhem bridge.
Main sculpting was done with milliput with magicsculpt used for detailing.

All comments and critique welcome

Steve

Excellent stuff Steve, I saw your SBS on the scratchbuild of a MK.V Sten over at Historicus Forma, top top stuff! Well done!

Probably the best book written about the paras that did manage to make it to the bridge has to be 'B Company Arrived' by David G. Van Buggenenum, have you got it? Worth a read if you can find a copy..on par with the kind of research conducted by 'After The Battle' magazine. Top stuff!

All the best,
Jon.

Excellent job Steve, looks very professional. Really good detail and the pose looks great.
His equipment is very well done and that sten really looks the part even more now it's in place.
Like the way he comes apart.
If you or anyone else manages to cast him I'll buy one mate.

Catch you later
Vic

Jon...Thanks for the comment on the figure much appreciated,i have not read the book you mention but i will look for it as B Coy 2 Para is what i seved in although 43 years after the Arnhem battle i must add,it is this that made me want to scupt the figure in the first place.

Dan...Thanks for the support with the figure i appreciate it as it all helps to keep me going with the sculpting.

Roc...Im so glad you like the figure, thankyou.

Vic...I hope you will be able to paint this one one day mate and you can stick him in the cabinet next to Maximus,Tom,Wounded knight etc,etc ,etc.

I will be reworking the figure slightly and will post pictures when done,im really not happy with the left arm and it needs redoing.

All the best everyone

Steve

Thanks for pointing me in this direction Steve, I somehow missed it.

I see what you mean the left arm looks a bit awkward but now your on to it I'm sure this will be a cracking piece when finished.

Roger.

Hi Steve,
I've just done a search on Amazon, Abebooks etc, and (despite only being published in 2003) it seems 'B Company Arrived' is scarcer than hens teeth. If you're going to Euro I could bring my copy down for you to have a flick through?
All the best,
Jon.
