Ive been working on the base ....

The crate is done with lots of layers, some dry brushing, washes, more dry brushing, more layering followed by washes and dry brushing, with a final set of very thin washes!

And I did two of them!!!!!

Static grass will mostly be obscured by the layer of snow and slush that will be added next...

:)

This piece is really taking shape Mark the crates look fantastic, one up for dry brushing (y) and the wally mug 'don't think I have seen one of them since serving my time ( brickie that is)

Ron

Cheers dude, wonderful work. Really enjoy every step by step you post, and this one is outstanding. Well done.

Sounds like a lot of work on a couple of crates Mark, but they look terrific!

I note you used two different ways to finish the shells, NMM and metallics?
IMHO I think the highlights of the NMM version are a tad too stark. But it may be the pictures.

Anyhow, I look forward to the finished piece(s).

Adrian

Have been following when I can Mark, and must say and he looks super. Think the boxes were a a great investment in your time as they are great. Graet job all round.

Don

Mark looking great as usual, neat work on the ammo boxes . Will you be bringing them both to the show at Crewe. (y)(y)

Cheers Ken

Adrian .. It was! :) The two types of paint are indeed NMM and Metallics ... As Stu prefers the look of the metallics I have over painted these... :)

Ken ... Thanks mate! Not at Crewe this year as I'm off to see Rammstein in Birmingham that day :(
