I've just spent a few days trying to knock ICM's 1/16 Roman centurion into shape, but decided to give up the struggle when I realised I was ever only going to get a 'back of the cabinet' result. However, I was quite pleased with the head, for which I'd used a Reedees spare, so I decided to save that and mount it on a Verlinden auxiliary centurion figure I completed some time ago. The original head was bare and the kit didn't include a helmet, so I was never that enamoured with it - this looks much better.

No it doesn't!It looks absolutely stunning. One of your best works so far and definitely one of the best Verlinden renditions I have ever seen.

Oda.

I like it Peter. I also like the base. Looks like he's quickly given himself a "field promotion " ...;)

Afternoon Peter

Well done with the Frankensteinian head swap, he looks well pleased with his head upgrade.

A great figure too, and a promotion from the back of the cabinet.

Looks like the cull and makeover work is progressing well.

I guess they are lined up for a swim in the Dettol bath?

Enjoy the next victim, and I guess you missed the snow too?

It hammered down here and was 2 inches deep by 7am, but has all gone but a biting -6C tonight

April Fools day tomorrow?

I guess we might get a white out?

Regards

Steve H

Hi Steve

Glad you like him. I knew that there was a decent figure waiting to get out and all it took was the head swap to bring him up to scratch. The latest Dettoled victim was a failure, so it's on to the next and another go at the U-Boat crewman I did recently - new head, hands and a total re-paint,

We've had quite a few snow flurries here, but there is bright sunshine now. I'm contemplating whether or not it's too cold to take Joe for a walk or not.

April Fools day tomorrow and the joke's on my son Owen who's just spent his last day recovering from Covid. He phoned his part time employer only to find himself booked in for a massive amount of overtime and he hates the job. Serve him right for bringing Covid into the house. Katherine and I avoided it, which proves the vaccination boosters work at least.

A "straight-up-and-down" figure in a ho-hum pose brought to life by a VERY nice paint job.You also continue to redefine the art of head transplant surgery Peter.

Cheers Steve. The figure was based on an illustration of a group of auxiliaries in a last stand scenario, Can't find it now though.
