Saw this close up myself over the last 2 days at The Scottish National Scale Model Show. Like Del, not my period of interest but for those of you thinking about it, get your order in. It really is a beauty of a kit and I’m sure it’s going to be popular.

I think this is a really nice figure and a brilliant concept, and it works displayed from all angles. The only thing I'm not sure about is what's going on with those two long parachute straps rising high up above his shoulders? I would have thought that the weight of the thing would be pulling them tightly down. Or am I missing something?

I think it would be. Verlinden did one back in the '90s but it was a bit gawky-looking and hasn't aged well.

The Verlinden one painted up quite well. They did a few German paras which always seem very popular on the market place.
Not sure about the straps Steve they look like they could do with a blast from the hairdryer to drop them into place.
Cheers
Gordon

I noted those straps too.
It seems these are not always bearing weight and sometimes even buckle up, see pics below.
Strangely, the picture this was modelled on doesn’t show this buckling.

Those straps connect directly to the chute via the rigging lines once it is deployed so no tension on them while the chute is packed which is why they are slack.
