Hi there!
I'm about to begin with this fantastic piece from Carld Reid/SK. The bust came with same printed colorplate that some of you posted a few days ago...http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/sk-miniatures-presents-1st-madras-cavalry-bust.49930/page-2
The problem is that I know nothing about this period and this is the only color ref I've got at the moment.:(.. It will be quite helpfull, But any other references would be much apreciatted..
Any sugestion for painting the medal ribbon that is wearing the subject?? I've found a nice site about that http://www.military-medals.co.uk/photospage.htm but I feel lost..any of those should be situable??
Many thanks
Gerard

Gerard Look up Madras Light Cavalry in your search engine ( there were eight regiments) Not much different from the photos as they all seemed to wear a blue, some show light blue some show dark blue but if you look for The Military Gentleman" you will see quite a lot from the Madras Army which may help you.

Hi again friends!
Finally I've started working on this.Obviously it's on an early stage with very rough transitions, quite crude overall.Except for the face where I've spent more time on, but neither finished. I'm especially quite concerned about I'm working with the right color tones on the jacket..I Would appreciate knowing any mistake done so far

I guess all those concerns are my penitence for the sin of painting too many Young's german ss busts. But changing to another historical periods was the only way to work with colours I've never had used before.. No kidding, it's true

Thanks in advance for any advise, correction etc..
