1st or Royal Regiment of Foot - 1759

Hello friends,

I'm very busy at the moment. Since May to end of September I'm giging on the road, playing concerts.

But I still can find couples of hours to paint some metal or resin :)

Not long ago my friend Laurent Borget posted here a Grenadier Bust he sculpted for me.
Now I'm happy to show the painted version of his wonderfull bust. Not for commercial, this is an unique piece. The scale is as for 120mm figures. This is not a big bust. In fact its smaller than usual busts.

All paint is done with oil.

Here the site where I found uniforms informations : http://www.1stroyals.org/

Thx to take a look :)

Beautiful work Jean-Paul. Point of detail - From 1684 the Regiment was known by its Colonel's name but was sometimes called the Royal Regiment of Foot. From 1751 it became the 1st Regiment of Foot (But continued to be called The Royal Regiment of Foot). Hence your title plate should read 'The 1st or Royal Regiment of Foot'.

Up until last year its successor regiment was called The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), today it is 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Jean Paul,
Thanks for posting the wonderful photos. I'm only sorry that it is a one of because I would have loved to paint him for my Seven Years War collection:)
Great painting, weathering is terrific and I think what you have done with his face is also fine! Thanks also for including the link to the 1st's home page, as I have added it to my uniform info.
