Hi Roger,

beautiful painted figurine. It is so nice to see a figurine of our Bavarian history. Bavaria is one of the oldest countries in European History. We had been a independet Kindom until 1864, were after a lost war against the Prussian Empire we lost it.
Bavaria had a Celtic stock and later mixed up with Romans and witht Germans. Still today we Bavarians feel as Bavarian, and clime to have a different mentailty and lifstyle to the rest of Germany.
If you see old pre WW I photos of Bavarians the majority had dark haire, a tribute to our Celtic and Roman ancestors.

Thank you very much for representig the history of my country. Unfortunately I don't know if a photo of my Grandfather with uniform exists, but I can give you documents of the peace uniform of the 1. Chevalueger Regiments.

Many greatings

Bruno

Hi Bruno,
Thank you and I'm pleased you like the figure.Looking at the range of German Empire figures from Hecker & Goros there are some other Bavarian figures so I do not think this will be the only one in my collection.
I would very much like any anything you have on the uniforms of Bavarian soldiers of this period.
Thanks again,
Roger.
