Hi Adrian,
Oh god no mate.
I'm not tto serious about research. I leave that up to the anal retentive guys who will criticise everyone elses work whilst they produce absolutely nothing. It can take up so much time getting all the stuff right and criticising the scult if a particular type of sandal wasn't made in 2010 A.D. and stuff like that. I'm not anal to that extent.
Thanks for the backup on the jacket camo also!(y)

Name´s and adress´s...

Very nice, I have the same figure mostly done besides some touch up. I also replaced the head with one from the parts box that I modded a bit to have his eyes shut like he's taking a drag off the cigarette. Supposedly these kits originally came with 2 heads, one with and one without a helmet. I never got the one with a helmet in mine. Its based on an illustration in the Osprey book "Peiper and Skorzeny" in the Battle of the Bulge. That picture has the guy wearing pea-dot camo. He is also carrying a STG-44 with its ammo pouches. They probably changed him a bit so as to not be a direct copy of the illustration. He was actually one of the guys filmed and photographed numerous times at the ambush site at Poteau, with burning American half tracks in the background. This is the same guy

I think your camo is VERY well done, and if you want it Oak leaf, thats OK too. My only critique would be the helmet with camo netting. These were usually only seen worn by Luftwaffe ground troops and not commonly seen on Waffen SS or Heer troops. Nice work.

Now I understand where the word analyst comes from!

Seriously, I love 'precisionists'. It is so inefficient to all do the research yourself. It's having to invent your own wheel all the time. Forums like these are a great way to tap in the sea of specialist knowledge as I prefer to 'look & do', but do not like to find out afterwards my figure wears the wrong sandals. So I salute the anal retentive amongst us!

(now back to the brushes).

Cheers:),
Adrian
