Hi

Does anyone have any experience with painting these tiny decals to a high standard? Perhaps there are decals (I do see 1/16 but not 1/9) but either way, any tips, pointers or tutorials would be most welcome.

Its about time I finished my latest figure!

His thread about the decals is deleted... in Germany no surprise due to the content as these decals are subject to legal consequences but possibly now the same on PF. while we can present models of German soldiers and vehicles of WW II in public they have to be "denazified". On the other hand Constantin is not very active since awhile - this might be related to recent political problems.

Thank you Kev, and thank you to all who have taken the time to respond. I’m of a mind to perhaps leave it off and just whitewash the lid. That way there is no public offence if I take them to shows but then I need to check the historical accuracy if that was ever done….decal free helmets with no canvas cover.

As always, such a helpful bunch here and I’ll do a bit more digging.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, my father was veteran of the SS and served at the Eastern front. I can assure you that the helmet decals - especially the swastika were removed to decrease the visibility. The SS decal was covered with mud or white washed if no helmet cover was worn. In many propaganda shots nevertheless the helmet decals are evident.

That’s just incredible help, thank you so much. I feel better now as I can save myself a ton of intricate work and also cater for preventing public offence if I ever show them.

Thank you Martin
