nicely animated, but the collar/facings colour was green for 24th Foot, not yellow.....(y)

You're right, we got the title wrong with another piece due out in September.
This is the title:
24th Yorkshire Regiment, Rorke’s Drift 1879

Also, the 24th was not a Yorkshire regiment. Nominally it was the 2nd Warwickshire Regiment, but army reforms of 1871 meant that its depot was set up at Brecon in South Wales and it recruited heavily in the Anglo-Welsh border area from then on, eventually becoming the South Wales Borderers. By 1879 the regiment had a pronounced Welsh character.

This is a list of British Line Infantry regiments who took part in the Anglo-Zulu War -

3rd (East Kent) Regiment (The Buffs)
4th (King's Own Royal) Regiment
13th Prince Albert's Light Infantry
21st Royal Scots Fusiliers
24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment
57th (West Middlesex) Regiment
58th (Rutlandshire) Regiment
60th King's Royal Rifle Corps
80th (Staffordshire Volunteers) Regiment
88th (Connaught Rangers) Regiment
90th (Perthshire Volunteers) Lt Infantry
91st (Argyllshire) Highlanders
94th Regiment
99th (Duke of Edinburgh's) Regiment

If you research each of these regiments, you will find out the individual facing colours for each one.....None of the former regiments which now make up the Yorkshire Regiment were present during the Anglo Zulu War.

I assume this figure is intended to be Lt. Bromhead. What is your source of reference for this style of tunic, with white piping all around and those (unfamiliar) tails along the back hem?

The uniform pics are of the 75th Stirlingshire Rgt, a regiment which had been in the Cape just before the Zulu War, but had actually returned home before the war took place. The uniform is typical of the type worn in S Africa at the time of the Anglo Zulu War, and is useful for reference. If you look at my list of regiments that actually took part in the Zulu War, your sculptor and painter need to do a little more research to ensure accuracy.

So can we enter 75th Stirlingshire Rgt as a title?

You could, but not at Rorke's Drift and not in 1879, as the regiment didnt take part in the Zulu War, as Ive said.

If you Google 75th Foot and you will be able to read the research for yourself......Alternatively, research one of the regiments that were present and make the necessary alterations to the uniform....!!

You will need to modify the uniform for 1857 (see attached) - its not the same as the 1879 issue - You really need to properly research what you intend to portray, its not a mix and match to find a "best fit"...... I honestly think you are now clutching at straws.....!! In order to make the best of what you already have, is to modify the figure to represent of of the regiments present during the Zulu War - If you sculptor is unable to do the necessary modifications, I will be only too happy to quote you for the work!!

Hi there

If I may also add a comment .....my suggestion is to withdraw the release , get the figure correctly altered

As Valiant says get the research right first .....why not ask on PF for help ...plenty of very knowledgeable members happy to help with access to many references
