This is the 8th Bavarian line infantry regiment 'Herzog Pius' in 28mm. Figures are Victrix plastics. Painted as a gift for a gaming buddy who turned 70 late last year. Pics credit to my son Steve, an amateur photographer who has the patience to stand the mutterings of an old man obsessed with toy soldiers.

Dear Mike, you have done a grand job on these. I am particularly impressed that you managed to clean all those plastic parts prior to their assembly. I helped a friend assemble some Austrians when they first came out and never again!
I have always liked the cornflower blue of the Bavarian uniforms and you have managed the colour very well indeed, especially as they are 28mm scale. The bases are also very well done and it sets off the unit very well indeed. Your friend must be very pleased.
Cheers,
Paul

Thank you for your kind comments Paul. Have to admit the minis were a pain to assemble and I am in the “never again” league as well. I used Vallejo’s Andrea Blue on a base of Prussian blue - it was the closest I could get to the cornflour blue that Bavarians are known for. Finally yes, my friend Mario was pretty chuffed; there would’ve been consequences otherwise……..😄😄😄
Cracking unit, they are superbly painted and presented. There is always something impressive seeing well done war games units on display.

Cheers Simon
Hey Simon, many thanks for visiting and commenting. I don’t feel 28mm is suitable for Napoleonics given the space and troop quantities required but hey, they do make for impressive visual displays!

Lovely work, they look far too nice to get shot to bits by Austrians/Russians or French (depending on whose side they are on.....)!
