Hi all thought I would put this out their. We at TFB have been receiving lots of very bogus 3D artists through our face book page and private e mails. It’s ok we normally find out very quickly that it’s someone in either India or Africa trying to cash in on the 3D market.

Yesterday one of the Team picked up an email all very convincing. Different from the normal ones he introduced himself. And we responded by asking to see his work . We got a bit of a surprise to see that what he sent us back was work he may have done for Gordon at MMM / RDG and Richie’s old company.

Of course we tried to check this out ( sent messages to the companies no response as yet ) to check this out. He could be genuine. We looked on sites but no joy with the names as they don’t put the sculptor on. The guy goes by the name of Patrick John ?

We have contacted him and questioned him about who he did masters for. But the response was just more photos of 3D offerings. I’m just putting it out their as lots of this type of thing is going on all the time. Only this time the work shown was ones we recognised.

If this guy is genuine or a member here, I posted this because of the bogus few who will spoil it for the genuine 3D artists who are looking for commissions.

Yes we know Wayne, good news is the guy is genuine and all ok. Just had to make sure. Their are so many out their now but hey it’s something we are used to dealing with. Thought other companies might get the same people.

So all good and we are looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.

There can be members here that are "scammers" you can't know it,just other name and other stuff and there they go,
but you can pic them out if you do a check up, if you are not sure about someone, just the same on Facebook, but that can
you figure out very fast ;)

Your right Mario , but if any are and we have definite 100% proof then they will be subject to action from Mods

I often get “3D artists “ contact me via social media but always check what they are doing ...any issues and I will block them

Marrio,
This world is a cruel place to live. My wife is on facebook but never responds to anything. This is the only place I respond to on the internet.
I still paint miniatures but not as driven as a used to be. I have a pretty good stash of kits and not very motivated with anything new. So I
just pick away at what I have with a little bit of paint here and there and think about my next move.
So tell all those scammers to kiss your ass................And keep on painting.

We had one who snuck into our MFCA group, and posted to solicit work doing 3D design, but every post was accompanied by photos of commercially produced figures and models, or finished pieces by known artists (eg some flats Greg DiFranco painted). In several of her posts, she suggested that the images were of things she designed. Bam! She's outta here!

Prost!
