5th Rgt Ruesch Hussars 1753
Known as the black hussars (die Schwarzen Husaren) because of their black uniforms, or die Totenköpfe. Trumpeters of the regiment did not have the deaths head badge on the mirliton. Thanks to Dr bison and the baron for the info https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/ruesch-hussars-prussian-hussar-during-the-syw.698353/
The whole figure has been undercoated in chaos black rattle can spray, the uniform has a wash of black/ black brown and dark blue. The face has been painted in acrylic and is complete.

Looks somewhat sinister, I like the black and white lace work, that must be a strain on the eyes. Really like the face as well, it's going to be a stunning figure.

Cheers Simon
Thank you Simon, I am doing half of the jacket at a time and yes it's doing my head in.
I have had help from two members on here and their help was invaluable. We are lucky to have such members.

Good start Bob on an interesting subject.

Malc
Love his elegant pose and the contrast between his fair skin/hair and the black uniform you created.
Everything so far looks great; looking forward to seeing more 👍
I like the effect that the dotted lines give, it takes a long time to do but the result is there.

Thank you all
Its a slow process on the lace details but it will be worth it in the end

Thank you very much Simon, I used the same method that Mike Blank gave details of for the black he uses. It works a treat. Hope your enjoying Cornwall.
Mike Blank certainly has a .magical touch with the brushes.

Cornwall was great, everything from the fog horn, rain, rough sea to t-shirt weather and sunshine all in one weekend!

Cheers Simon

Hi Bob

Sorry thought I’d posted ....fascinating subject matter and your doing a great job on the piece ....liking the lacework ...really works well

Have you a link to the MB black painting ? ( I have Elans Deaths Head 1/12th bust all ready ...just scares me to death 🤭 )

I added the link to the additional info from members

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

As my latest finished figure is a 54mm 5th regiment hussar NCO, I can only admire your work. I'll keep following with interest and delight!

Cheers,

Benny

Lovely work Bob, this is coming together very well. The detail on the braid is particularly impressive.
