Hello Planeteers,
I have finished these snobby officer of the Saintonge Regiment.
The figure is a conversion i have made from Art Girona .
I jave paint it in the 1776 Regulatiion uniform as many of these troops were serving overseas andndid not get their new regulation or part of it in time by the time of the siege of Yorktown, ot is know that few regiments including Saintonge had part of their troops in the old and new uniform at the time of the final engagement.
The uniform depicted here is white with sky blue collar and Aurora facings on the cuffs and lapels.
A little bit of background on the regiment:
The Saintonge Regiment, also known as the 85e Regiment of the Line, was raised in the year 1684 in the province of Saintonge, France. From 1763 to 1768 the regiment served in the West indies and French Guiana. In 1780 the regiment was sent with Jean-Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, comte de Rochambeau to help the United Statesduring the American Revolutionary War. The regiment took part in the Siege of Yorktown in 1781. In 1782 the regiment returned to the West Indies and then back to France in 1783. Following the French Revolution the regiment became the 82e Regiment of Infantry
Cheers!
