I have completed the 72nd highlander similar to the bill horan figure in india, the one wearing tartan trews, wearing a turban, armed with sword and pistol, but I cant remember who the manufacturer was? if anyone knows please let me know.i think the scale is 75mm or 80mm? thank you/badger

Hello Badger!I have the same boy and I buyied him many years ago from a used-figure-seller.I think it is a Mitrecap Miniature.Isearch him and give you an other advise,if Mitrecap is wrong.T.

thank you.i am putting him in the Scottish nationals competition on Saturday and I could not remember the maker, mitrecap miniatures sounds correct? thanks again/ badger

Good morning sir! After a little brainstorming in the early morning,I believe he could be from Invicta Miniatures.............perhaps.I don´t find him in my GA for the moment.I search furthertime.......:D.He was in a lightblue box with a photo of the ready painted figure,I remember.

The figure was sculpted by my old mate Rendall Patton in 1992 and I cant remember the company he sculpted it for but it wasnt Mitrecap or Invicta, sorry.I remember they were in the main Hall at Euro 1992 the last stand to the left before you got to the stairs to go down to the competition rooms.....I will try to rack my brains later.
Regards
Pete

Hey buddy,
I couldn't be in Perth at the weekend how did you get on in the competition. I have seen some piccies but not that figure.

Paul.

I had that figure and another highlander, also a figure of private perry, and I thought all three were pretty good, but they didn't win anything, but my figure by jeff shue was highly commended, and my diorama of black watch in Belfast won best diorama and best Scottish themed model. so I was pleased at that. to be honest there was a young boy won best model for a tank he built, and to see him going up to get his award made my day. its the younger modeller we need to encourage. overall it was a great show and cant wait till next year.

Exactly, the more young people we attract and introduce to our creative and educational activity the better.

Oda.

I think that perhaps just before the show an article in the local newspapers promoting it ,would draw more attention and maybe attract more young modellers to the hobby?
