Hi Nap

The Blues are spot on I used the same reference as the one above along with some from other books Like the osprey Men at arms Franco Prussian war for the paint guide.

The none metallic braid works very well indeed. I'm sure Juan will share his references with you. i'm looking forward to seeing the flag too.

cheers

Cheers Ian,

Thanks just interested in the shirt colour , also looked at some other references which shows a blue undershirt as well ..love the research taken on this and others from your range .

The flag ...going to look great

Nap

Hi Nap we do our best to get it right, this being my area of interest I do try and get the best info I can. the Paris army museum has been great has too the royal Armouries in Leeds. they have helped with weapons. and having a collection of items from the Franco Prussian war does help when you are researching the figurer. we might not always get it spot on but we listen and try and improve.

I know Chris went to great lengths to get the flag right ( this is why it took such along time) so we know that the figure is as accurate as we can get with the info we have all gathered as a team. I think The late Pete Morton would be very happy with the way things have turned out.

Cheers

Ian

Nap.
I see Juan has posted his mix on his previous post on this figure. Easy to miss as the posts have moved on. Maybe he will post again?

Peter.

Hello friends
Very gratefull for your interest on mixes.
The golden color is a mix of game colors paints, i post the photo. You have to paint like NMM color. 72091 sepia and 72153 brown are mixed for the darknest base as I explained . Then I mix 72153 and 72151 for the real bade og golden. Lights with 72151 and white at the last highlight. Photo 1
Shadows adding 72091 sepia at the base og golden, and outlines with sepia and a bit of black.

The mix of shirt , 841 andrea blue of vallejo and 965 prusian blue and white. Lights adding white and shadows adding prusian blue and a bit of burnt umber Photo 2

The coat , photo 3 is for base and photo 4 is for shadows. First light adding 70901 pastel blue.
Hope you like and try

Juan
