Looks great. Question for the Napoleonic experts, I though I read somewhere that Carabiniers were the only regiment that rarely had facial hair.

There seems to be a few contemporary paintings and drawings of officers with moustaches, the orderly or batman will be invalided and not on the roll, he will have a civilian status and can do what he wants, its conjecture but seems locgical that an officer would have a civilian servant or military pensioner.

Nice looking vignette.

The paintings shown are of a trooper and the larger one is an NCO I think - no motif on the breastplate be the straps seem to be an amalgam of the ends of troop cuirassier straps with the chains typical of an officers cuirassiers. As Rousselot said "if we saw what the really wore we might well be surprised".

Im not sure if this is an officer, certainly looks like one but its definately a carabinier, circa 1810 it was painted

Moz, as far as I know, the officers had copper cuirasses and helmets* and they wore the sunburst-like silver ornament on the centre of the cuirasse. (*Have seen brass helmets in some depictions.)

Lovely vignette, this.

Mine arrived yesterday. Cast and Moz sculpt look very good and parts fit well. Something a bit different and will look forward to splash some paint on these at some point
