Hi all here is the finished versions of the 75mm Clinch Rifles, Georgia Militia 1861. Below is the master pattern for the new figure. It has now gone for casting

The figure will be up on the website for pre order from today. Please visit our website on the following.

The figure comes with an option of two different arms. So it’s up to you which version you wish to build.

Thank you for looking.

Hi Terry, it’s up for pre order from the website now. It went for casting today so should not take too long as we are now close to clearing the back log.

Nap, glad you like it, the option of the arm is a nice add on as you can change things up a little

Major Art, at the moment no plans to do a larger scale. We stick with 75mm as we find that’s the scale that sells the best for us. If there was a sufficient call for the larger version we would look at the investment. But it would have to be significant as the cost involved is more. But never say never.

Hi Ipa53, yes I have to say the pipe version is the one we like best, but it’s good to have a choice of arms .

Hi Tecumseh, yes I agree the pipe does set it off better. When it was designed the pipe was an after thought which we are very happy about. I think you will see a mixed bag of these out there some with the pipe some without. But it’s good to have the choice.

This is a superb addition to TFB's ACW range, and I'm sure it will be hitting my bench in the not too distant future.
The pipe is the version I like too,

Malc

Hi Malc thank you,yes it’s a good addition to the ever expanding ACW range. It adds a bit of colour to the set, we have more interesting ones in the pipe line will keep you posted.

You are bringing on one finest series of figs. I,ever laid eyes on,From rebs to union love them all. As a reb.officer suposidly said at Pickett,s“Boys,Glory ain,t a half mile off”

Hi phc35, we are delighted that we are pleasing people with our releases. We are trying to bring different subjects from the early years of the war and unusual subjects. The range will continue to expand. We will be doing a Reb vignette soon just to balance things up.

We also have a couple of mounted subjects that we are looking at doing, so watch this space.

I am really very happy to see the unusual units of the early ACW being covered! I find it very interesting how many militia and drill team units there were in the US in the 1850's. (Almost ANY unusual uniforms are of interest to me!)

Being a Memphian, I would love to see a Memphis Zouave Cadet. But, ANY of the others are most welcome!

I am currently painting a Clinch Rifles figure from another manufacturere, but I will have to have this one, too!

Don

Hi Don, glad you like what we are doing. It’s fun hunting down the more unusual uniforms and units. I personally have learned so much more about the units and the men.

If you have any info on the Memphis Zaouve cadets we could take a look at it and see if we can do something with it in the future. We have a list of ACW projects which we are gradually working our way through

One thing we would like to ask is this. Is their an interest in the naval units. We have seen a couple of nice officer photos that would make very nice figures but wondered if their was any interest in that unit .

The only information I have on the Memphis Zouave Cadets is the entry on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/154th_Tennessee_Infantry_Regiment) and a drawing in an Osprey book (The Confederate Army 1861-1865 #5 Tennessee and North Carolina; ISBN 9781846031878).

They were originally raised in 1842 as the 154th Tennessee Militia and kept their regimental number for a while once the war started. The Memphis Zouave Cadets were actually Company D of the unit (much like the Clinch Rifles were Company A of the 5th GA.). They served in the western theater - Shiloh, Stones River, Franklin and atlanta, among others.

I would be interested in naval and marine figures from both sides of the ACW.

Thanks!

Don

Thanks Don, will have a look through our Osprey books I think we might have that.

Thank you
