Looking good so far Colin. I'll be following this with interest.
Ukranian embroidery...... you'll be needing this then ;)

the only time we smile is when we're drunk or getting into some kind of trouble. Then we are happy as hell!!!!

Colin, you are forgetting a neighbour's hay stack on fire ;) (obviously without any hand in this - otherwise see *getting into some kind of trouble)
:D

Not sure if wyshyvanka is suitable for the period in question, but looking forward to see what you make of it. Please look after your eyes though;)

Glad to see you've found your brushes, mate. Coming out the same rut, I'm finishing up a Highlander bust this week then onto the Naval Brigade figure. Getting together with you lot late last year really got me going again, so maybe our local little mutual admiration club will have a positive effect on all of us;)(y)

Thanx all
Ray and Zast, hope you enjoy working on these figs too... they are really well sculpted and cast.
Dell and Gaudin, I don't think I'm going to risk the rubber room... though I love the embroidery (my grandmother used to do it... if it didn't move, it got needleworked) I took a practice run and realize it's waaaaay over my paygrade.
Paul, I hope to get at least one of these done for Hamilton... I may have left it too late to finish them all before the show but I'll bring them to the meeting the following week.

I'm going to start separate threads for the three figures individually. Keep things a little simpler.

Cheers

Colin

I picked up the bust at a discount table last October in Chicago. Lovely little piece, however it wasn't until yesterday that I realised a piece (buckle assembly for the sword cross belt) was missing. Or rather I'm not sure it was ever included with the kit even though the painted box art shows a buckle. I'll probably attempt to sculpt and paint one this week.

So that's the good news. Unfortunately, I will not be at the Hamilton show (nor the club meeting) as I will be down in the islands on vacation that week:cool:

Hm....Hamilton IPMS and the local modellers' sewing circle or the islands......sounds like a no brainer to me :) Look forward to seeing it later Paul.
