Season Greetings fellow planeteers, just finished my latest work,a 1/10th scale resin bust from Young Miniatures depicting a soilder from the 82nd airborne WW2.
The bust is very well sculpted to the usual high standard found in Youngs miniatures with hardly any filler required during the assembly, some of the parts are very delicate so careful handling is required during assembly and painting.
The box description states 82nd Airborne / Normandy but as i have a big interest in the Market Garden Campaign i decided i would eventually title mine Corporal 1st Battalion A company 508th PIR (Parachute Infantry Regiment),82nd Airborne - Nijmegen - 1944.
To give just a brief description it was the 508th that made the first attempt to take the Nijmegen bridge on the 17th spet 1944 @ 22.00hrs but wer'e forced back by SS counter attack forcing general gavin to withdraw and reorganise.
I fing Young's busts such a pleasure to paint and this one was no exception,i cannot praise the quality casting and sculpting high enough, overall a lovely piece.
The figure was completed using my usual painting style with all base colours completed with Tamiya and Games Workshop acrylics and final painting completed in oils,i hope you like viewing the piece all comments and critism accepted.
Due to work commitments i wont be starting anything else for a few weeks so i would like to take this oppourtunity to wish all my fellow planneteers a very merry christmas and a happy new year.:cool:

Excellent painting which brings out all the fabulous detail on the piece.

One of the best versions of this bust I have ever seen. 10/10

Well done Brian!

I like this version of the bust a lot, the camo face makes it more obvious he is about the embark on an operational drop, nice work Brian and merry Christmas mate.
