Steve, Though I'm not up on the period in terms of knowledge, the colors look good. The lighting in your pics seems to wash out your shading, thus probably eliminating your mid tones. Where there is shading it looks stark in places. I'm sure your piece does not look the same as the pics. I think that is a HUGE problem when commenting on other people's work. The lighting can really wreak havoc on the paintjob. Maybe try taking a few more pictures. :) ~Gary
 
Hi Steve I thinck you must work more about lights and shadows.
The shadows are too much hards and don't haven't trasition with lights.

I agree with your comments I also think that it is the lighting. I tried taking photos under natural lightbut the face just looked one colour so then I tried it with light above it and now the shadows are much too dark. It does look much better without photos honest :lol:
