Dear Planeteers, i have not posted for a while as i am getting ready to move me and my family to the netherlands in early April, i am between jobs at the mo and got bored last week - i nipped in to bonapartes in Bath with the intention of getting the romeo models 90mm roman centurion, Dave did not have this in stock, so i had a browze - This figure (90mm pegaso hospitaller) just jumped out at me because the box art has great presence, so i got this figure as an alternative.....
I have never painted a medeival figure before or indeed a figure dressed in black - i used acrylics for the cloth and leather parts and oils for the face, i used humbrol metel coat for the chainmail and helmet etc....
I used flesh tints and primary red to highlight the black cloth .
I tried to create a section of wall with cross shaped arrow slits as a base / background made from plasticard and milliput, with an attempt at arabic inscription.
I have enjoyed this so far and it has made a nice change from ww2 etc , i am also working on some romans at the mo, but have packed them untill after the move, anyway my pictures will not be as good as some posted here, but hopefully you can see the jist , i liked the box art so much i had to have a go.
still some fine details to finish and finakl highlights on the groundwork
Best Regards
Kirky
