Although the end is now in sight, there's still some fine work to be added here and there.
At this point, I've been working on the telescope and hands.
The telescope was given an undercoat of a blend of Gobi brown and Desert yellow.
I decided I'd try oils for the brass finish, rather than use a metallic.
Mars yellow was applied first and allowed to dry, this was followed by wash of Raw Sienna and again allowed to dry.
For the shadows I used thinned Raw Umber, and again I allowed this to dry.
I wanted the brass to look tarnished, and opted for a blend of Raw Sienna, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow
and finally Titanium White.
I varied the tones, blending them carefully, and feel at this stage, it doesn't look too bad.
